Why More Couples Are Choosing a Wedding Weekend Over a Wedding Day

For a long time, a wedding meant one long, rushed day. Get ready at a hotel. Hustle to the ceremony. Load everyone onto a shuttle to the reception. Send people home at midnight, half of them driving two hours.

That's changing. More couples are turning their wedding into a full weekend: a laid-back night when everyone arrives, the big day, and a slow morning after. We built Bellagio Fields for exactly that.

What a wedding weekend looks like here

Friday: You, your family and your wedding party pull in and settle into the villa. Have dinner together, take a walk around the property, and enjoy the calm before the big day.

Saturday: Nobody's racing across town. You get ready on site, walk out to an outdoor ceremony with the mountains behind you, and celebrate in the reception building and out on the patio.

Sunday: No one has to leave at midnight. Wake up, grab coffee, have brunch, and say your goodbyes when you're ready.

Why couples love it

You get real time with your people. On a normal wedding day, you get about four minutes per table. Over a weekend, you actually get to hang out with the friends and family who traveled to see you, especially the ones coming in from New Jersey or further.

There's no shuttle or hotel block to manage. Your closest people are right there with you. That's one less thing to coordinate and one less thing to go wrong.

Your photos tell the whole story. Getting ready, first look, ceremony, sunset by the pond. It all happens in one place, so your photographer isn't stuck in traffic between locations.

It feels like a getaway, not an event. That's the part couples tell us about afterward.

What makes Bellagio Fields a weekend venue

  • 70 acres in the valley of the Sugarloaf Mountains, with views everywhere you turn

  • A villa that sleeps up to 30, so you, your wedding party and your family stay on site all weekend

  • An outdoor ceremony space with a mountain backdrop

  • A reception building with indoor space and a patio, so the party can move inside and out

  • A pond and open fields for photos you won't get anywhere else

  • Full-service planning. We work with you from the first call to the last dance.

Is a wedding weekend right for you?

It's a great fit if a lot of your guests are traveling, if you'd rather slow down than rush, or if you've always pictured your wedding as a getaway. If you'd rather keep it to one big Saturday, that works here too. The weekend is there if you want it.
